Located in the heart of Belgium’s de Kempen region, Allard-Europe is a future-oriented steel and iron foundry that provides castings for dredging, shipbuilding and offshore activities around the world. As Interim Operational / Production Manager, you are ultimately responsible for the entire production process. You will ensure that the production of castings is completed to a high standard, and the correct staff and resources are aligned and follow the schedule. You may also be required to be the customer’s point of contact. In addition, you will supervise six department managers, who in turn lead each production department. They control the foundry, which includes various departments (mould-making, moulding shop, foundry, finishing, machining) and employs about 80 people, working in two shifts. You will monitor the quality of the final pieces and assess if improvements are necessary. You will be part of the management team and report directly to the CEO. There is a foundry expert on site, so pure detailed knowledge of casting is not necessary. The organisation is growing and provides a dynamic working environment.

Your profile

To be eligible for the position of Interim Operational / Production Manager, you must have the following:

  • a higher technical bachelor’s degree
  • senior-level leadership experience in a similar manufacturing environment
  • the ability to control knowledge and experience in a workplace, including team leaders/foremen
  • an affinity with creating, establishing and maintaining schedules  
  • charismatic leadership skills, a production-oriented approach, and open to making improvements
  • excellent communication skills; an ability to smoothly interact with others and ensure they are working to the same goals
  • fluency in Dutch and English (knowledge of German and/or French is a big plus)
  • the ability to work independently to a large extent.
