Your job

To further strengthen Royal IHC’s corporate start-up, IHC Medusa BV, we are looking for a Designer of mobile processing plants for the applications it develops. Under the guidance of IHC MTI, IHC Medusa’s main activity is the development, sales and distribution of its revolutionary soil stabilisation system. This allows for the mass reuse of waste soil in solid, concrete-like products. The process has a low CO2 footprint and, as well as reusing mining and dredging wastes, it also reduces the operational logistics requirements at the construction site. In the near future, IHC Medusa will launch its product line. In support of this, we are looking to expand the existing team with a Designer, who can create and achieve the processing plant through verifying valorisation proposals and turning ideas into products. In your role, you will be responsible for developing, designing and field testing the processing plant in line with the operational business targets of Medusa. The reuse of dredging, mining and other wastes contained within mass stabilisation systems is the central issue. You will need to consider the short-, medium- and long-term view, in order to realise scalable and sustainable business solutions that contribute to our growth objectives.

Your profile

To be eligible for the position of Designer Chemical Mobile Processing Plants, you must have:

  • higher vocational education (HBO) or higher academic education (master)
  • three to five years of relevant experience in chemical processing technology
  • knowledge and experience of our industry and experience working in an SME (midsized company) is a plus
  • ability to liaise effectively with and convince middle and senior management of Royal IHC, customers and other stakeholders
  • flexibility to travel a large percentage of the time
  • excellent conceptual and analytical skills
  • preference for working in a small team and outside the normal nine to five
  • strong communication skills, with fluency in English and Dutch (verbal and written)
  • knowledge of French, German and/or Spanish is desirable.
Please note, only applicants with a valid EU work visa will be considered as viable candidates. An online assessment and screening may form part of the recruitment process.
