The Research and Development department lays the foundation for the techniques we use in the IHC IQIP product portfolio. When the customer makes a request, we convert this into a practical design and solution.
As a team member within the Research and Development department, you will collaborate closely with three research developers, one engineering specialist and the Technology and Innovation Manager. We are currently offering two interesting and challenging assignments:
Case one: there is an oil leak in the hood that we drain once a week. Depending on the volume, we determine whether the hood must be removed or not. How can we monitor the hoods that are worn in the field and know whether they are actually broken?
Case two: there is wear between the striking plate and striking ring. How can we measure the wear of our tools?
We’re looking for someone who wants to help us convert fleet management questions into innovative designs and solutions. Do you have another proposal for a (graduation) assignment? We’re open for ideas!
To be eligible for this position, you must be:
- enrolled in a higher professional (HBO) or WO bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechatronics, electrical engineering, physics or mechanical engineering
- able to plan and prioritise your tasks, and work with sufficient independence
- proactive and have a hands-on mentality
- fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
Royal IHC offers you a challenging full-time internship within a successful and dynamic company with a reputation for being a worldwide leader in technological innovation. In addition, we offer you a competitive salary and professional development opportunities.
IHC IQIP is part of IHC, the global market leader in the construction of specialist ships for wet mining and dredging activities, and an important player in the field of complex custom-built offshore ships. In addition, we offer life-cycle support to our customers, which is available worldwide and for the lifetime of our products. If you look at our customer base, you will find prominent dredging companies, oil and gas conglomerates, offshore contractors and national governments. With offices worldwide, IHC has an international orientation. Today, we have 3,000 colleagues working in various locations across The Netherlands and overseas.
