On this project, you will work closely together with our partner NETICS B.V. As an R&D, engineering and consulting company, NETICS is the expert in the field of stabilising and reusing dredged sediment. The company has the necessary expertise and knowledge to dewater and strengthen large quantities of dredged sediment for beneficial reuse.
NETICS advises owners of sediment on the reuse of dredged material in water-related construction projects, as well as other land development projects. By locally reusing the dredged material, it is possible to reduce construction costs, the use of raw materials and CO2 emissions significantly.
With its patented product – GEOWALL® – NETICS develops hard structures from locally available dredge sediment. These blocks are made of compressed dredge sludge and, based on the soil properties, stabilisation techniques are applied. With this technology, dredged sediment is used as a primary resource for GEOBLOCK building blocks and used to construct breakwaters, embankments and slopes.
The equipment to press the GEOWALL blocks on a commercial scale is currently being developed. IHC and NETICS are looking for a student who can support both companies with the design and engineering of the equipment. On this project, you will be able to:
- Investigate the latest state-of-the-art technologies
- Translate new ideas and innovations into action plans
- Build upon your own professional education and development.
To be eligible for this position, you must have the following:
- Excellent communication skills spoken and written in English
- Only candidates with work visa will be considered as viable candidates
- An education in mechanical engineering
- Proactive, creative, inquisitive and enthusiastic
- Independent and possess a hands-on mentality
