In the Research and Development department of IHC Systems, we investigate and develop the latest automation for the offshore and dredging industry. We are looking for students who are interested in performing a thesis or an internship at our department. Our field of expertise covers a wide range of topics, including:

  • Motion and heave compensation
  • Dynamic positioning (DP) systems
  • Autonomous vessels
  • Dredge automation
  • Power management.
We offer a range of related assignments, such as:
  • Auto landing for motion compensated gangways
  • Model-based-control thruster allocation for DP systems
  • Machine learning for dredging equipment control.
Furthermore, we would be happy to work closely with you to create a personalised assignment.  
 

Your profile

To be eligible for this position, you must be:

  • Enrolled in a WO master’s degree, preferably related to systems and control
  • Able to plan and prioritise your tasks, and work with sufficient independence
  • Proactive and have a hands-on mentality
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

As a student you will work at IHC Systems. This organisation develops and supplies standard and custom-built solutions for the efficient operation of dredgers and related vessels.
