Main features

  • Simulates operational and safety aspects of excavator dredging: positioning, digging, piling, stone placement and barge loading.
  • Simulated soil properties influence all models.Realistic outside view, with free flying ‘camera’ and weather and sea state conditions, enhanced by vibration and sound simulation.
  • DTM, job area and soil samples can be uploaded from survey data and are updated in real time during simulation.
  • ‘Water’ can be drained for a vivid impression of the dredged seafloor or profile.

Models and extensions

  • Models are based on state-of-the art IHC knowledge concerning equipment behaviour, dredging processes and soil properties.
  • Configurable for multiple dredgers and multiple boom-and-stick tool combinations. Includes full control chair, presentation, and control and automation features of the real dredger(s).
  • Separate trainer desk for interaction with the training, environment and dredging process. The trainer can influence the process by changing important parameters, overruling settings or introducing sensor faults – the trainee must react accordingly.
