Beaver® photo challenge
Terms and conditions
By participating in the photo challenge, participants agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Participation
- participation is open to everyone
- multiple photo submissions per participant are allowed
- participation is free of charge
- photos can be submitted until 31 August.
2. Photo requirements
- photos must be submitted in JPG or PNG format
- photos must be clear and of sufficient quality. Photos taken with a mobile phone are allowed.
- photos must always be taken safely. Participants must not take risks or perform unsafe actions to capture a photo. Royal IHC accepts no responsibility for unsafe behaviour.
3. Ownership & authorship
- all submitted photos must be taken by the participant
- the submitted photos must be free of third-party copyrights
- participants who submit photos that infringe on third-party rights are solely responsible for any legal consequences arising from such infringement.
4. Rights of use
By submitting a photo, the participant grants Royal IHC a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use the image for communication and marketing purposes.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- the Beaver® Calendar
- websites
- presentations
- internal and external communication
- social media and promotional materials
Where reasonably possible, the photographer’s name will be credited.
The twelve selected winning photos will be featured in the Beaver® Calendar, including the name of the photographer.
5. Image editing
Photos may be edited only to a limited extent.
Allowed adjustments include:
- cropping
- sharpening
- contrast
- brightness
- shadows and highlights
- white balance
- removal of small dust spots or blemishes
Heavy manipulation, compositing or artificial effects are not permitted.
6. People, privacy & permissions
- if identifiable persons appear in a photo, the participant is responsible for obtaining their consent prior to submission
- if a minor appears in a photo, written permission from a parent or legal guardian is required
- if the photo contains elements owned by third parties, such as logos, equipment or locations, the participant is responsible for obtaining permission where required.
7. Content standards
- submitted photos must comply with general standards of decency, professionalism and safety
- Royal IHC reserves the right to reject any submission that does not meet these standards or does not align with the spirit of the challenge.
8. Selection & jury
- a jury appointed by Royal IHC will select the winning photos
- the jury’s decision is final and binding
- no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.
9. Prizes
- the selected winning photos will be featured in the Beaver® Calendar 2027
- each winning participant will receive a copy of the calendar.
10. Announcement of winners
- the winning photos will be announced on 14 September on the website of Royal IHC and via a post on the Royal IHC LinkedIn channel
- the winning photos will also be published on the Royal IHC website and may be shared through Royal IHC communication channels
- Royal IHC reserves the right to adjust the announcement date if necessary. Any changes will be communicated via the official Royal IHC channels.
11. Final provisions
- Royal IHC reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions or to terminate the photo challenge prematurely if circumstances make this necessary
- in cases not covered by these Terms & Conditions, Royal IHC will decide.
12. Applicable law
- the photo challenge and these Terms & Conditions are governed exclusively by Dutch law.
