Dedicated production facility 

A one-stop shop

The Port of Blyth is fast becoming the location of choice as a North Sea supply hub and our site is perfectly placed to support offshore, fibre optic, oil and gas and renewable energy customer needs, both locally and worldwide. This specialised large-scale facility enables us to comprehensively assist our clients in equipment construction, upgrades, servicing, and life-cycle support programs. 

We specialise in manufacturing and supplying bespoke offshore systems, including pipe and cable-lay equipment, subsea trenching equipment, telecomms equipment and fully integrated turnkey solutions. This facility also serves as a base for our extensive range of offshore rental equipment, allowing us to provide fast and reliable support to meet our clients' operational needs.

The site, comprising a 11,000 m² indoor facility and a 1,700 m² external area, adopts lean 5S principles and is fully equipped with hydraulic and electrical clean rooms, including test and flushing equipment to attain the highest standards. 

With an integrated warehouse supporting all onsite assembly and maintenance activities, a machine shop for rapid response working, and multiple mechanical handling and gantry crane capacity, it is a one-stop shop for all customer needs.

This production centre is supported by our highly skilled and fully trained team of construction and commissioning engineers and technicians. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, these dedicated professionals are committed to delivering excellence in every project.

We also have well established links to third-party service and contract labour providers, allowing us to rapidly match the required level of resources. 

Working with the Port of Blyth Authority, we can provide extensive berthing and loading capability, while our logistics partners provide packaging and transportation services. This means we are able to offer our customers end-to-end services in the north-east of England.

Terminal and facilities

The South Harbour serves as the principal terminal. It features two berths with a depth of up to 8.5m LAT, a RORO Pontoon, and is equipped with cranage capable of handling up to 120 tonnes. Additionally, it boasts over 65,000m² of contemporary warehousing space.

Our offices and facilities provide workers and clients with state-of-the-art multimedia environments, capable of facilitating global meetings across various platforms. Clients are provided with office and welfare facilities, complete with Wi-Fi, for the duration of a project, all supported by Royal IHC staff.

Blyth Harbour Commission 

The Port of Blyth is the operating division of Blyth Harbour Commission, an independent Statutory Trust Port established in 1882.

The port is fully compliant with ISPS (Security) and benefits from:

  • 24-hour manned security
  • CCTV monitoring systems
  • Out-of-hours mobile patrols.
