Our experienced and fully trained team of construction and commissioning engineers and technicians support these activities. We also have well established links to third-party service and contract labour providers, allowing us to rapidly match the required level of resources. 

Working with the Port of Blyth Authority, we can provide extensive berthing and loading capability, while our logistics partners provide packaging and transportation services. This means Royal IHC Limited can offer customers end-to-end services in the north-east of England. 

The Port of Blyth is fast becoming the location of choice as a North Sea supply hub and our facility is perfectly placed to support offshore, oil and gas and renewable energy customer needs, both locally and worldwide. 

A one-stop shop

Our specialised large-scale facility, located at the Port of Blyth, allows us to comprehensively assist our clients in equipment construction, upgrades, servicing, and life-cycle support programs. 

The site adheres to lean 5S principles and features fully equipped hydraulic and electrical clean rooms, complete with test and flushing equipment to meet the highest standards. Additionally, our integrated warehouse supports all on-site assembly and maintenance tasks, while the machine shop ensures rapid response capabilities. It includes an indoor area spanning 11,000 m² and an external area of 1,700 m².  

With multiple mechanical handling options and gantry crane capacity, our facility serves as a convenient one-stop shop for all customer requirements.

Terminal and facilities

The South Harbour serves as the principal terminal for Offshore Energy. It features two berths with a depth of up to 8.5m LAT, a RORO Pontoon, and is equipped with cranage capable of handling up to 120 tonnes. Additionally, it boasts over 65,000m² of contemporary warehousing space.

The Royal IHC offices and facilities provide workers and clients with state-of-the-art multimedia environments, capable of facilitating global meetings across various platforms. Clients are provided with office and welfare facilities, complete with Wi-Fi, for the duration of a project, all supported by Royal IHC staff.

Blyth Harbour Commission 

The Port of Blyth is the operating division of Blyth Harbour Commission, an independent Statutory Trust Port established in 1882.

The port is fully compliant with ISPS (Security) and benefits from:

  • 24-hour manned security
  • CCTV monitoring systems
  • Out-of-hours mobile patrols.
